Graciela Beretervide Piano Recital

by José Augusto Bérbert

The famous argentine pianist Graciela Beretervide returned to Bahia to play another superb concert to homage the eminent brazilian Cientist Professor Dr. José Silveira of his 95 years of age.

The audience was deeply impressed by her extremely sensitive interpretation. At the fírst part of the program she played Chopin's Mazurka Op. 67; Nocturne in C sharp minor, Scherzo Ín b flat major and the Polonaise Militaire- Her poetical performance of Chopin's compositions has no equal, almost immersed in a heavenly feeling.

The second part was dedicated to Deolindo Froes, the most important composer of Bahia - Graciela played wonderfully three of his most famous compositions: "Aria Op. 20"; "Queixas da Velha Arbore" and the diffícult "Daça das Fulhas Secas". Each time Graciela returns to Bahia, we appreciate in her playing more virtuosity, more charm and perfection. The public of Bahia really enjoyed to have a new marvelous opportunity of listening to her again.
