CURRICULUM VITAE

Argentine pianist born in Buenos Aires. She was a pupil of Claudio Arrau and Rafael de Silva in New York, where she stayed for fíve years, with a scholarship granted by the Pan American Unión in Washington, that also included studies of Musiology and Electronic Music at Columbia University. In Buenos Aires from the early age of six until she was twenty years oíd she studied with the famous professor Vicente Scaramuzza and afterwards with Mercedes Me Donough.

She played her fírst concert at the age of eight, a two piano performance together with her mother, the well known pianist Delia Sacerdote.

Graciela Beretervide graduated at the National Conservatory of Music ot Buenos Aires and at present she is Professor of Senior Piano Courses.

She has performed in Buenos Aires for the most important Music Societies like "'Asociación Wagneriana" "Mozarteum Argentino" and at the Cervantes and Colon Theatres. She also performed in most of the argentine provinces.

The Camegie Hall Corporation hired her for four concerts while she was at the United States, one of them at the Carnegie Hall of New York. In that city she also played at a recital of Spanish Music, sponsored by the Spanish Institute of New York, works by Soler and Granados. For this occasion she received the musical supervisión of the great pianist Alicia de Larrocha.

She has performed in many concert tours in Europe, specially in Spain (Madrid, Oviedo, Gijón), Paris, Brussels, Rome and Vienna.

She succeded in Ottawa (Canadá) where she had excellent reviews ot her concerts.

She also played in South and Central American Countries like Chile, México (Festival Internacional Cervantino 1986), Paraguay and Colombia being invited in several opportunities to díctate Master Courses on Claudio Arrau's Piano School.

In September 1989 she was invited by the "Societé Philarmonique Algerienne" to participate at the "First International Music Festival of Tipaza" (Argelia) with musicians of fífteen countries, immediately following her European concert tour.

She was the only argentine pianist who went in June 1991 to the Funeral ofthe great pianist Claudio Arrau in Chile, where she returned one month later, to play on July 301, a recital at the "Claudio Arrau Hall" in the Teatro Municipal of Santiago de Chile, obtaining enthusiastic reviews.

At the musical season of 1991, she was invited by the Colon Theatre of Buenos Aires to play with the outstanding pianist Manuel Rego and the Philarmonic Orchestra of Buenos Aires the Mozart double Concert for two pianos and orchestra K.385 conducted by Gabor Otvos, repeating this performance with the Mar del Plata Symphony Orchestra.

Both concerts had great success and excellent reviews.

In 1992 she played concerts in several European cities. In September of this year she went to the city of Córdoba (Argentina) to offer an homage to Claudio Arrau, playing the Four Temperaments by Paul Hindemith, with the Córdoba Strings Orchestra, Conducted by Herbert Diehl.

In 1994 she successfully played at the Borges Hall of Buenos Aires National Library on a music cycle of "Six Argentine Solists".

From 1994 to the present she plays concerts regularly in Salvador de Bahia (Brasil), Sponsored by the "José Silveira Foundation", including in her performances works of argentine and brazilian composers, having being qualifíed by the musical reviews as a great virtuoso and inspired pianist.

In 1995 she played an extense tour at the argentine provinces and aiso recorded programs for T.V. and Radio Nacional of Buenos Aires, including first performances of several argentine composers.

In the year 2000 she successfully played an homage to the well known argentine composer Alberto Williams at the Colón theatre, performing a great part of his piano music.

In 2001 she was engaged by the "Cedesa Company" to play an important recital to European, Canadian and American Bank presidents. This concert took place at the "Fernandez Blanco Museum" of Buenos Aires and she performed works by Chopin and argentine composers.

From 1996 she is Vicepresident of the Frederik Chopin Foundation of Argentina connected with the Varsovian Chopin Foundation in Poland.

She has made many broadcasts with national televisión, Radio France, Radio Nacional Clásica de Buenos Aires, ORTF (Radio Televisión Francesa) Radio Vaticana, Braziiian National Radio, and was invited to play in the Árgentine televisión series "GfÜQes Solistas Argentinos (Great Argentine Soloists).

A highly interdisciplinary musician, she has undertaken many other projects in the literary sphere, collaboraíing in 2004 with Daniel Barenboim and Bruno Gelber in an article for the Germán magazine "Piano News" on the nature of music-making in Argentina and the National Conservatory. She performed many lectures about "Mozart and bis piano repertoire"; "Alberto Ginastera and his Opera Bomarzo"; "Claudio Arrau as a Pianist and as a person"; and "Two Chilean Nobel Prize winners: Pablo Nemda and Gabriela Mistral in the Music". "The music in literary works of the great Italian writer Syria Poletti". Also she has been Vice-President of the Federico Chopin Foundation in Buenos Aires. Since 1996 she organizes the "Young Talents Festival" at the Argentine-Germán Cultural Institute.

She continúes with her musical activities all over Europe and South American countries.

In September 2005 the "Juan de Garay Basque-Argentine Foundation" awarded her with the annuai Prize of the Culture.

In 2006 she was invited to perform piano concerts at the U.K. in the cities of Cambridge, Leeds, Sheffield, Nottingham and London. She also performed master classes at the Trínity College of Music. After this she played in France and Switzerland.

She dictated master classes about Claudio Arrau School of Music and also played many concerts at the argentine provinces all this at the same time with her teaching at the National Conservatory of Music of Buenos Aires.

On the occasionof the celebrationof Argentine Bi-Centennary (1810-2010) she has been invited to play at many Germán cities.
